ff The Hook design is the trading name for freelance graphic and web designer Stuart Brown. I'm based in Kendal, Cumbria and offer graphic and web design services. From brochures to stationary, books, packaging, branding, photoshop touch-up to websites, e-commerce, advertising and more.
I am planning to get a full website up and running to properly show my off portfolio until then I hope that the few links below will give you a flavour of my web design work.
Kendal Town Football Club
This site is almost my own personal website, I do it for free (being a supporter) and as you will see I have added a forum and a myspace page as well.
Haws Watering Cans
Launched last year this site for renowned watering can manufacturers Haws Watering Cans followed some print design work for them. This site was the inspiration for me to take on more web design than I had previously.
Garden Gifts Direct
When Haws wanted to sell a few peroducts online I was asked to design my first e-commerce site. I think it came out well, and also was very economical and simple to roll out.
Independent Coach Education
I have been designing their publicity material for a few years now and I also manage (as well as having designed) their website, which means updating on a regular basis.
Chocolat in Kirkby Lonsdale
I have just recently taken over the management of this site, updating this month, and we are in the process of re-designing and creating a full e-commerce site for Chocolat.
I
take pleasure in working closely with clients, allowing them to be as hands on with the design and development process as they wish. This often means that I work at the clients' own office with them in front of the screen for periods of time. I have found that this approach allows for better understanding of the client's needs, increased awareness on the part of the client as to what may and what may not work in the design and ultimately improved customer satisfaction.
I am available to work 7 days a week during the day and also in the evenings (at no extra cost I might add). Thats right, I'm flexible! Creativity does not always happen between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday...
I do quite a bit of trade work, and am quite happy to give discounts for agencies, printers etc.
